Little Peanut

Caleb Thomas Brugger
July19,2005-April 27, 2007

It has been so fun celebrating the life of our little angel this past weekend.

Caleb was born on July 25,2005 at 25 weeks gestation, weighing a whole pound and a half. He was the size of a dollar bill, but was HUGE in spirit. Our little guy was born with less than half a brain, resulting in so many medical struggles. But aside from being blind, daily seizures, the need of constant CPR, feeding from a tube, and many, many other struggles, this LITTLE HERO was always happy and had a smile on his face!

A great loss was felt by many on April 27, 2007 when Caleb was called home to our Father in Heaven. Though his sojourn on Earth was brief, he did a lifetime of good. Through his example and the way that he weathered trials, he has left a legacy of love and compassion to all who knew him. Caleb was the epitome of JOY. No one has illustrated better than he how to grasp on to and cherish the joy of living. His body was always weak but he had a strength of spirit that we know will live on forever, especially in the hearts of those that he left behind; his Father and Mother and his two sisters Hannah and Emilee. We know that Caleb and his older sister Aubrey are playing, laughing and rejoicing in the opportunity to be united again in Heaven. We miss them both terribly and look forward to the day when we will once again be all together as a family!

It is hard to believe that our little mister has been gone for a FULL year! We still think about him every moment of every day. We celebrated his passing this past week by doing all of his favorite things. We brought balloons to his grave, but instead of letting go of 100 white ones, like we did at his funeral, we brought red hearts and yellow smiling faces. We each talked about all the things that we loved about him and then we let them all go. The girls were so excited, and loved watching them fly away. We sang many "Short Bus" songs, and shared some of his funniest moments. We then went to Build-A-Bear with their Caleb bears and let them pick out new outfits. The girls still adore their bears, and I don't think that we ever tire of hearing his sweet little laugh! We finished off the day by going to his favorite restaurant, Texas Roadhouse! It was so wonderful to see how excited the girls were, and how much they loved remembering their little guy! I am truly grateful for the gospel and the knowledge that he still lives, and laughs every day! WE MADE IT THRU THIS YEAR. At this time last year, I could not even imagine making it thru the day without him, let alone a whole year! His memory is still so strong in our hearts, but I think the pain of having him pass, is lessening, ever so slightly!

I am posting some of our favorite pictures of him, just to remember his sweet smile! We love you son!
